The Waxahachie Indians delivered a dominant performance in the first round of the UIL 6A Division I boys basketball playoffs, defeating the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs 91-54 on February 24 at Waco High School. The Indians controlled the game from the start and never looked back, turning the matchup into one of their most convincing wins of the season.
Waxahachie’s offense was clicking all night, pushing the tempo and knocking down shots from multiple players. MG3 led the Indians with 17 points, adding 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Kaleb Jones also had a strong performance with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists, helping run the offense and create scoring opportunities for his teammates. Brock Moore added 14 points and 5 rebounds to help keep the pressure on Copperas Cove throughout the game.
The Indians’ defense also played a big role in the win, forcing turnovers and limiting Copperas Cove’s scoring chances. The Bulldawgs struggled to keep up with Waxahachie’s pace as the Indians continued to build their lead through each quarter.
With the victory, Waxahachie advanced to the next round of the playoffs and continued their late-season momentum. Copperas Cove finished its season with the loss as the Indians moved one step closer to a deeper postseason run.
