Dallas SOC dominates Melissa to advance to their 5th straight state championship game.



South Oak Cliff punched its ticket to the next round with a convincing 35–17 semifinal win over Melissa, using a balanced attack and timely defensive stops to control the game from start to finish.


The Golden Bears set the tone early behind quarterback Jayden Williams, who managed the offense efficiently and kept drives alive with smart decisions. In the backfield, Mikal Trotter delivered a standout performance, rushing for 118 yards and four touchdowns, repeatedly breaking through the Melissa defense and finishing drives in the red zone. Devin Cook also made key plays in the passing game, hauling in 63 receiving yards to help stretch the field.


Melissa showed resilience, led by Brett Holloway, who accounted for much of the Cardinals’ offense with 179 passing yards and 127 rushing yards, along with two total touchdowns. Payton Porter added a strong receiving effort with 74 yards, providing a consistent target downfield. Despite the effort, South Oak Cliff’s physical run game and defensive pressure proved to be the difference as the Golden Bears closed out the semifinal victory.

Their offense showed balance, mixing smart play-calling with strong quarterback decision-making.
